Terms of Use

Vfane is a matching and record-keeping tool that helps homeowners in Texas find residential roofing contractors. It serves two kinds of users — homeowners and contractors. Vfane is not a contractor, not an advisor, not an employer, not an employment agency, not your representative, and not a party to any agreement between its users.

Every contractor on Vfane is an independent business. Vfane does not employ, supervise, direct, dispatch, schedule, or control any contractor, and it does not set or suggest the price of anyone's work. Any deal you make with a contractor you find here is between you and that contractor.

Vfane does not provide professional advice of any kind. We are not contractors, engineers, attorneys, or insurance professionals. Our AI-powered assistant is an educational tool: it explains general roofing concepts so you can have better conversations with contractors. It does not schedule work, and it is designed and instructed not to recommend specific contractors, not to produce cost estimates, and not to give professional, technical, legal, or insurance advice — it is built to refuse those requests and point you to a qualified professional instead. Do not rely on anything on this platform as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Vfane has no involvement with insurance adjusting, insurance claim filing, claim documentation, or any insurance-related professional service.

Contractors on Vfane choose trust pillars to display on their profile. Each displayed pillar carries a status. “Verified” means Vfane confirmed that specific item against a named source. “Stated by contractor” means it is the contractor's own claim, not independently checked by Vfane — a description, not a penalty. While Vfane is checking an item a contractor has submitted for verification, the pillar shows “Under review.”

The word “Verified” on this platform means exactly one thing: Vfane confirmed that specific item against a named source, on a recorded date. It is a statement about what Vfane checked on that date, not a permanent status — verification does not stand indefinitely, and when a verification lapses the pillar reverts to “Stated by contractor.” It is never a guarantee of work quality, an endorsement, a recommendation, or a warranty of any kind.

Vfane does not describe any contractor as “trusted,” “screened and approved,” “guaranteed,” or “certified” by Vfane — and no listing, pillar status, or match on this platform should be read that way. Profile approval means one thing: Vfane decided to list the profile after onboarding review. It is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a guarantee of any contractor. Reviews, endorsements, and other user content are never Vfane verifications and are never labeled “Verified.”

Pillar status can change at any time as new information becomes available. A profile that has not yet been claimed by its business may contain information Vfane compiled from public sources — on an unclaimed profile, items shown as Stated by contractor may be information Vfane compiled rather than statements the business itself made. A business that has not claimed its profile can ask Vfane at support@vfane.com to correct or remove it.

Check any contractor yourself before you hire them. You are responsible for independently confirming qualifications, insurance, references, and reputation. Texas does not issue a state license for roofing contractors — any “license” a roofer shows you is a voluntary trade credential, not state authorization. Vfane gives you a place to start — the hiring decision, and its risks, are yours alone.

Ask any contractor you are considering for a current Certificate of Insurance directly, and confirm their coverage yourself. Vfane does not confirm insurance coverage with insurance carriers, and nothing on Vfane is a statement by Vfane about any contractor's insurance coverage — a document a contractor uploads to Vfane is not a Vfane verification of coverage.

Hiring for construction work involves real risks, including property damage, construction defects, delays, and cost overruns. Those risks exist no matter what a contractor's pillar profile shows.

Vfane does not currently charge homeowners or contractors to use the platform.

Vfane does not process, hold, escrow, route, or transmit any payment between users. Whatever you and a contractor agree to pay each other is handled entirely between the two of you, outside Vfane.

Vfane never sells leads or contact information, and never accepts payment for placement, ranking, or search position.

Verification standing on Vfane is determined solely by evidence checked against a named source on a recorded date. It is never granted, upgraded, accelerated, retained, or restored in exchange for payment or any other consideration.

If you are a homeowner, a contractor who receives your matched project sees only your project type, urgency, and the ZIP code area of the project (the 5-digit ZIP) — not your name, email, phone, or address.

Your contact information stays private unless you choose to share it. Through Vfane's in-app sharing control you can share specific details with one connected contractor per share action, and Vfane keeps a best-effort record of what you shared and with whom. The details you can share this way are limited to your name, phone, email, and ZIP code — not a street address.

Anything you type into a message is your own disclosure — it reaches the other participant exactly as you send it, outside this control. Vfane never sells leads.

Contractors on Vfane are recognized in two formats: written reviews, and structured endorsements — agree-only confirmations of pillars a contractor claims, with a fixed set of positive tags. Written reviews come only from Vfane homeowners. Endorsements come either from Vfane homeowners on their own projects or, through invitations a contractor sends, from people the contractor identifies as past clients from before Vfane — invited endorsements are always labeled as coming from invited past clients and are shown separately. All of it is user content that reaches contractors and the public; none of it is a Vfane endorsement, and none of it is ever labeled “Verified.”

Structured endorsements are positive-only by format: they collect agree-only confirmations and fixed positive tags, and nothing else. Written reviews are free-text accounts with no rating attached. Vfane does not screen out or remove a review or endorsement for being critical — removal is limited to content that is fake or deceptive, that violates these Terms (including the Acceptable Use rules), or that the law requires or permits Vfane to remove. Vfane's own recognition formats collect no star ratings, no numerical scores, and no negative-rating options. Where a contractor's profile shows third-party reputation data — such as a Google rating — that figure is the third party's; it is not Vfane recognition.

Vfane accepts a written review only from the homeowner on a project the reviewed contractor has marked completed with that homeowner through Vfane, and at most one review per completed project — limits enforced in the platform's database. On-platform endorsements require the same completed-project relationship between the endorsing homeowner and the contractor. Invited endorsements work differently by design: a contractor may invite past clients from before Vfane to endorse the pillars the contractor claims, through a single-use, expiring invitation sent to that client's email address — and those endorsements are always displayed separately, labeled as invited past clients, never mixed into on-platform counts. Vfane does not verify the prior client relationship behind an invited endorsement.

Recognition is never paid for: contractors may not offer discounts, payments, upgrades, or anything else of value in exchange for a review or endorsement, and homeowners and invited past clients may not accept anything of value for one. Vfane removes fake or deceptive reviews and endorsements.

Whether you are a homeowner or a contractor, when you use Vfane you agree to a few rules:

• Provide accurate information about yourself, your project, or your business.
• Do not impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you are or who you work for.
• Do not use Vfane for anything unlawful.
• Do not scrape, harvest, or mass-collect profiles or contact information.
• Do not interfere with the platform or attempt to bypass its security or access controls.
• Do not attempt to game, fake, or buy pillar verification.
• Do not fake, manipulate, or offer anything of value for reviews or endorsements.
• Do not advertise, offer, or solicit insurance-claim negotiation or claim-handling services on Vfane, and do not advertise or offer to pay, waive, absorb, rebate, or offset an insurance deductible.

Vfane may remove content and may restrict, suspend, or remove accounts that break these rules.

You own the content you submit to Vfane — project details, messages, reviews, endorsements, photos, and profile information. By submitting it, you grant Vfane a non-exclusive license to host, store, and display that content as needed to operate the platform.

Vfane owns the platform itself — the software, design, name, and marks. These Terms do not give you a license to copy, resell, or build on the platform.

You can stop using Vfane at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and data as described in the Privacy Notice. Vfane may suspend or remove profiles, content, or accounts that violate these Terms or create legal risk.

When your use ends, your content is handled under the Privacy Notice's deletion terms, and the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive — including warranty disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and dispute terms — continue to apply.

Vfane is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement — to the maximum extent permitted by law.

In plain terms: Vfane does not promise that the platform will always work or be error-free, that any information on it is complete or current, or that using it will lead to any particular result. Vfane makes no warranty about any contractor or the work they perform.

Vfane is not responsible for any contractor's work, behavior, or performance, and is not a party to any agreement between a homeowner and a contractor. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VFANE IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE, FINANCIAL LOSS, OR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM OR FROM ANYONE YOU FIND THROUGH IT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VFANE'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE PLATFORM IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). THE LIMITS IN THIS SECTION APPLY TO ALL THEORIES OF LIABILITY, INCLUDING CLAIMS BASED ON VFANE'S OWN NEGLIGENCE. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law — including liability for Vfane's own gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud — and nothing in these Terms waives any right or remedy that cannot be waived under applicable law, including any non-waivable right under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

If a third party brings a claim against Vfane arising from your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your infringement of another person's rights, you agree to defend Vfane against that claim and hold Vfane harmless, including paying reasonable attorney fees. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim arises from Vfane's own negligence or breach, and it does not apply to a review or endorsement you submitted in good faith.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. If you have a problem, contact us first at support@vfane.com — most issues can be resolved directly, and we will try.

For any dispute that we cannot resolve informally, you and Vfane agree that the state or federal courts in Harris County, Texas are the venue for that dispute, and both consent to that venue, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.

Vfane may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will give advance notice — by email or by a notice on the platform — before they take effect. Changes apply prospectively only: they never apply retroactively to anything that happened before their effective date. Continuing to use Vfane after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms going forward.

These Terms are written in English; the Spanish version is a translation provided for convenience. If the two versions conflict, the English version controls.

Your use of Vfane is also governed by our Privacy Notice, which explains what information Vfane collects, why, who can see it, and how to request deletion.

Vfane is for adults — you must be at least 18 years old to use it. By accessing or using Vfane in any way — including creating an account, claiming a contractor profile, submitting a project, using the AI assistant, or using the matching tool — you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Notice. Contractors who claim a profile also agree to the Contractor Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
