How the Trust Score works
Every contractor on V-Project has a Trust Score — a 0–100 number calculated from objective, verified signals. No contractor can pay to improve their score. No contractor can advertise their way to the top.
Verified homeowner reviews
After a project is marked complete, the homeowner receives an invitation to leave a review. Reviews are positive-only — we ask "What did this contractor do well?" Reviews are immutable once submitted: no stars, no edits, no deletions. The more completed projects with reviews, the higher the score.
Profile completeness
Contractors who complete their full profile — bio, specialties, service area, portfolio — demonstrate commitment and give homeowners the information they need to feel confident. Incomplete profiles score lower.
Lead response rate
Contractors who consistently respond to matched leads demonstrate reliability. Homeowners deserve a contractor who is engaged and responsive — not one who goes silent.
Why positive-only reviews?
Most review platforms allow negative reviews — which sounds fair, but creates a perverse dynamic: contractors become afraid of reviews, homeowners weaponize them, and the platforms profit from the anxiety.
V-Project takes a different position. We believe the right signal is who homeowners choose to vouch for. A contractor with 20 completed projects and 18 enthusiastic homeowner endorsements is telling you something true. A contractor with 3 projects and 2 negative reviews is telling you something — but not necessarily something useful.
Our review prompt is simple: "What did this contractor do well?" The best contractors accumulate evidence over time. The rest self-select out.
Every review is one per homeowner per project. They cannot be deleted, edited, or purchased. They are permanent, verified, and public.
How matching works
When you start a project on V-Project, our AI assistant guides you through a quick conversation about your roof — no forms, no dropdowns. From what you share, we filter every verified contractor by specialty and service area, rank them by Trust Score, and surface your top 3 best-fit contractors, ranked by Trust Score — plus let you browse all verified contractors in your area.
We rank your matches so you can start with the best, but we also give you the freedom to explore. Some homeowners know exactly what they want. Others prefer to compare. V-Project supports both.
You choose your contractor — browse profiles, compare Trust Scores, and pick the right fit. They receive your project details (type, zip code, timeline — no personal information) only after you select them. You are never cold-called by someone who bought a lead list.
